St. Anthony hosted Dieterich Monday night and posted a volleyball victory in two games.

The scores were 25-19, 25-20.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Stella Passalacqua had 2 kills; Kate Hartke 2 kills, 3 aces, 16 points; Taylor Ritz 2 kills, 1 ace, 7 points; Lucy Fearday 6 kills, 1 block; Taylor Quandt 1 point; Kyra Swearingen 1 ace, 15 assists, 2 points; Ada Rozene 5 kills; Maria Poston 4 points; and Rileigh Haarmann 3 kills and 2 points.

St. Anthony will be back in action tonight (Tuesday) at home against Windsor/Stew-Stras.

Altamont played host to St. Anthony Tuesday night and posted a volleyball victory.

The Lady Indians won in two games. The scores were 25-17, 25-20.

St. Anthony won the junior varsity match in three games. The scores were 23-25, 25-19, 29-27. The Altamont freshmen won 25-22, 22-25, 25-17.

The Lady Bulldogs will play at home Thursday against Teutopolis.

St. Anthony and Brownstown/St. Elmo played a close volleyball match Tuesday night, with the host Lady Bombers coming out on top.

The Lady Bulldogs won the first game 25-23, but BSE came back to post 25-23, 25-17 decisions to gain the victory.

For St. Anthony, Elizabeth Kabbes had 3 kills, 1 ace, 4 points; Claire Schneidemantel 1 block; Stella Passalacqua 1 kill, 1 block; Kate Hartke 4 points; Taylor Ritz 8 kills, 1 ace, 1 block, 6 points; Lucy Fearday 1 block; Kyra Swearingen 17 assists, 14 points; Ada Rozene 3 kills, 2 aces, 1 block, 5 points; and Rileigh Haarmann 1 ace, 3 points.

The St. Anthony junior varsity squad also posted a win. The scores were 24-26, 25-10, 25-23.

The Lady Bulldogs will play Tuesday at Altamont.

Newton racked up five straight wins Saturday, en route to winning the St. Anthony Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

Shelbyville finished second, Pana third and Okaw Valley fourth in the eight-team field.

The host Lady Bulldogs finished the tournament with a 1-3 record.

St. Anthony lost 10-25, 25-20, 11-15 to Sullivan; 8-25, 27-25, 6-15 to Shelbyville; and 14-25, 17-25 to Okaw Valley in pool play. The Lady Bulldogs then defeated Chrisman 23-25, 25-16, 15-11.
