The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs swept all six singles matches Monday afternoon, en route to a 7-2 victory over Casey-Westfield.

No. 1 Singles – Allison Kowalke won 6-1, 6-2; No. 2 Singles – Emily Kowalke won 6-1, 6-7, 10-2; No. 3 Singles – Caroline McDevitt won 6-4, 4-6, 10-5; No. 4 Singles – Ali Adams won 6-3, 6-3; No. 5 Singles – Laura Schmidt won 6-0, 6-1; No. 6 Singles – Peyton Sehy won 6-1, 6-1; No. 1 Doubles – A. Kowalke/McDevitt won 6-4, 6-3; No. 2 Doubles – Sehy/Grace Karolewicz lost 7-6, 3-6, 8-10; No. 3 Doubles – Madelyn Brown/Elizabeth Kabbes lost 1-6, 6-7.

The St. Anthony girl's tennis team recently concluded a successful season with the end of the year sports banquet.

The team had an amazing season, placing fifth at the state tournament, the highest placement in school history. Both singles player, Emilee Mossman, and the doubles team of Averee Greene and Allison Kowalke placed in the top 8 at the state tourney, earning them 1st team All-State honors.

After a rare setback earlier in the week, the St. Anthony girls tennis team responded in dominating form, posting a 9-0 victory at Charleston.

St. Anthony will play Tuesday at Mattoon.

The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs ended their regular season Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 victory at Mattoon.

The Lady Bulldogs swept all six singles matches and won two doubles matches to secure the win.

The Lady Bulldogs will host and play in the St. Anthony Class 1A Sectional on Friday. The Effingham Lady Hearts and Teutopolis Lady Shoes will also compete in that sectional.

The St. Anthony Lady Bulldogs continued their fine season Saturday in the Bloomington Purple Girls Tennis Invitational.

They ended up winning one doubles division and finishing second in three singles divisions, en route to earning 50 team points and getting second place in the 14-team field. Libertyville was the team champion, winning eight of the nine divisions and accumulating 74 points. Normal U-High was third with 46 points and Homewood-Flossmoor was fourth with 43.

Emilee Mossman and Caroline Deters combined to go 3-0 and win first place in No. 3 doubles. They defeated Tanvi Vallabhaneni/Sharanya Rotte (Normal), 6-0, 6-0; Monika Kirski/Kensey Harris (Moline), 6-0, 6-0; and Lauren Berns/Cristian Tuduri Poza (Libertyville), 6-1, 6-3.

Mossman also finished second at No. 1 singles. She beat Madeline Gentry (Normal), 6-2, 6-1; and Abby Totten (University High), 6-0, 6-0. In the finals, Mossman lost to Lily Vandixhorn (Libertyville), 3-6, 1-6.
