The Teutopolis girls tennis team continues to roll.

The Lady Shoes didn’t drop a single set Monday, en route to a 9-0 shutout at Casey-Westfield. And in nine of the 18 sets played, THS didn’t even lose a single game.

Teutopolis swept through eight matches without dropping a set, en route to an 8-1 tennis win at home Thursday afternoon over Effingham.

“Congratulations to Teutopolis,” said EHS coach Erik Williamson. “It’s always tough to play them, but our girls played hard. I feel like Teutopolis is always a measuring stick. The scores don’t show how well the girls played against them.”

Both the Lady Shoes and Lady Hearts will play Saturday in the Mattoon Invitational.

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes competed in the Mattoon Invitational Tennis Tournament and finished second overall.

Robinson was the champion of the event, which was played both Friday and Saturday.

Both of T-Town’s doubles teams – Alli Brumleve/Macy Probst and Isabelle Hemmen/Grace Hoene -- won their division and all three singles players – Carley Habing, Lexi Will and Kenna Koester -- came in fifth.

No. 1 singles: Carley Habing finished 3-1. She defeated Ashley Mills (St. Thomas More), 6-2, 7-5; lost to Eva Richardson (Casey-Westfield), 1-6, 2-6; beat Alexis Mallory (Mt. Zion), 8-0; and defeated Alishba Zahoor (Salem), 8-2.

No. 2 singles: Lexi Will was also 3-1. She beat Anna Brunner (Mt. Zion), 6-0, 6-0; lost to Kaitlyn Banning (Salem), 1-6, 6-4, 8-10; beat Jocelyn Vanmatre (Olney), 8-1; and defeated Nora Kelly (St. Thomas More), 8-4.

No. 3 singles: Kenna Koester finished 1-1. She lost to Maggie Vavrik (St. Thomas More), 3-6, 3-6; and beat Ariel Rubin (Effingham), 8-0.

No. 1 doubles: Alli Brumleve/Macy Probst went 3-0. They beat Caroline Baker/Michelle Roberts (Mt. Zion), 6-0, 6-0; Alysha Clements/Lucy List (Robinson), 6-0, 6-2; and Maddy Swisher/Noelle Schacht (St. Thomas More), 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles: Isabelle Hemmen/Grace Hoene also finished 3-0. They defeated Lanie Butler/Regan Shumway (Mattoon), 6-0, 6-0; Audrey Horn/Becca Hege (St. Thomas More), 6-0, 6-1; and Stevee Walker/Ella Dorfmueller (Robinson), 6-2, 6-2.

The Lady Shoes will be back in action today (Monday) at Casey-Westfield.

The Teutopolis girls tennis team proved to be unbeatable over the weekend, winning three matches and capturing first place in the Challengers Flight at the Heather Bradshaw Invitational at Edwardsville High School.

The Lady Shoes defeated Triad 6-3, Highland 8-1 and Dunlap 5-4 to earn the championship.
