The Teutopolis Lady Shoes clinched a fifth place finish Saturday morning by posting a 36-26 victory over Breese Mater Dei on the final day of the 35th annual Apex Network Physical Therapy Girls Basketball Tournament in Highland.

T-Town went 3-1 overall in tourney play.

Izzy Hardiek scored five five-quarter points, helping the Lady Shoes take a 12-8 lead after the opening eight minutes, and Zoe Cremens knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the second period, as T-Town took a 20-13 advantage to the locker room at intermission.

The Lady Knights were still within six points, 25-19, heading into the final quarter, but the Lady Shoes got eight points from Courtney Gibson and outscored then 11-7 to secure the win.

Gibson was the only THS player to crack doubles figures with 10 points, but Hardiek and Cremens both scored nine.

The Lady Shoes improved to 14-6 on the season. They will be back in action Tuesday, hosting Altamont.
